How You Can Contribute To The Celebrations
When you think of Fourth Of July celebrations, what comes to mind? Family picnics? Parades? Fireworks? For many of use, the bright colors and dazzling displays of firework shows have become synonymous with celebrating our independence on July 4th.
That is why each year, Batavia hosts a “Sky Concert” that is one of the most celebrated fireworks displays in all of the western suburbs of Chicago. At it, music is flawlessly synced with the display, wowing audiences. The best place to catch the show is from Engstrom Park (Millview Drive and West Main Street). Starting at 5:00 p.m., Savor-the-Flavor vendors will be offering their wares. At 9:30 p.m., the Mayor will offer a welcome and then the show will begin!
No tax dollars are used for this celebration; this Concert is both produced and paid for by the local citizens. If you want to donate online to make it possible for us all to enjoy fireworks this year and in the future, you can give here.
Another way that you can help raise funds for the July 4th Fireworks Sky Concert is by getting involved in the June 14th Batavia Flag Day Ice Cream Social. From 4:00-7:00 p.m., head to the Riverwalk (by City Hall) to grab some ice cream with your friends and family as you enjoy live music from the Batavia Community Band, Mr. John Ivan, and students from the Peg Bond Center. By purchasing decorated ice cream cups, raffle tickets, or donating, you contribute to the firework fund.
