The cold fall and winter weather may be arriving earlier than expected thanks to an early polar vortex. The short, cold bursts of air will be a harsh reminder of the severe cold of last winter.
The cold weather will start in Canada, and make its way across the Great Lakes, causing a drastic drop in the temperatures much earlier than expected. While November is not expected to have as severe weather as last year, the rest of October is expected to be one of the most extreme months.
November could even see a slight warm up compared to October, filled with soaking rains. El Nino is expected to make its debut early this year, which may lead to wild weather in December and early January. The moisture that is provided by jet streams in El Nino will bring in even bigger snowstorms across the Northeast.
